Stanley Leroy Eaton Sr., 88, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021. He was born on October 22, 1932 in Keedysville, MD, to the late Charles Leonard Eaton Sr. and Martha McCoy Eaton. Stanley was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a mechanic and retired from the City of Hagerstown Public Works Department. He was a member of the American Legion Post #222 in Clear Spring, and the AmVets Post# 10 in Hagerstown. He was a lifetime member of the North American Rod and Gun Club, as well as, the Goodwill Athletic Club - "Little Club". Stanley was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Cash, his brothers, Charles Leonard Eaton Jr., Robert E. Eaton, and Dale W. Eaton, and his foster parents, Kenneth Herbst and Kathaleene Summers Herbst. Stanley is survived by his children, Stanley L. Eaton II and his wife, Rosie, Richard Eaton and his wife, Norma, Kevin Eaton, and Sherrie Eaton, his grandchildren, Amber, Justin, Mason, and Tyler, several great-grandchildren, his former wife and friend, Gertie Eaton, and his furry friends, Noah, Sammy, Tommy, Patches, and Baby. Family and friends are welcomed for a graveside service on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 1:00pm at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 17636 W. Washington Street in Hagerstown.
