Biaggio Vaia Obituary

Biaggio Vaia died on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at home in Budd Lake after a brief illness. He was 58. Born in Dover, he lived in Budd Lake for 11 years. Mr. Vaia was a Crane Operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 825. He was a parishioner of St. Michael's Church in Netcong. He loved fishing, playing cards, and busting peoples’ chops. He is survived by his wife, Jessica Vaia; three sons: Brian Smith, Anthony (Lauren) Vaia and Joseph Vaia; two grandchildren: Seth Smith and Olivia Vaia; two sisters: Maria Vaia and Theresa (Robert) Sydrock; his brother, Joseph (Lauren) Vaia; five nieces: Christina Vaia (Stew Maldonado), Dana (Charlie) Dolce, Melissa (Peter) Siino, Sarah Josephine Vaia and Gianna Vaia; his grandniece Gabriella Maldonado; his grandnephew Cody Maldonado. He was predeceased by his father, Anthony Vaia; mother, Josephine Vaia; and nephew, Joseph Vaia Jr. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 15 at 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM at Morgan Funeral Home, 31 Main Street, Netcong. Masks are required and building capacity is limited due to current State regulations, please be patient and courteous of others waiting to pay respects. A funeral Mass will immediately follow on Friday, January 15 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael's Church, 4 Church Street, Netcong. Masks required, building capacity limited. Interment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Chester.
