Mr. Mitchell W. Hickok, 59, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021, in his home. Born May 24, 1961 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Donald W. Hickok, Sr. of Waynesboro and the late Ezaura E. (Manaia) Hickok. He lived most of his life in the Waynesboro area. Mitchell served with the United States Army from September 1983 until July 1989. He and his wife of over 31 years, Theresa (Creager) Hickok, were married on March 31, 1989. Mitchell was the owner and operator of Anthony Highway Auto Sales and Service, Waynesboro, which he built from the ground up to what it is today. He was a member of Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, The Owl’s Club, and Eagles Club, Inc., all of Waynesboro. Mitchell was an avid Harley rider who loved his time spent with his family swimming in the pool with the grandkids and having cookouts with his friends. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by five children, Jeffrey Hickok (Jaimie) of Waynesboro, Arron Wagaman (Kevin) of Chambersburg, Brian Myers (Heather) of Waynesboro, Alicia Carbaugh (Todd) of Waynesboro, and Carrie Smetzer (John) of Waynesboro; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Michelle Guyer of Scotland, PA, and Debbie Stull of Chambersburg, PA; two brothers, Stewart Hickok of Waynesboro, and Donnie Hickok of McConnellsburg, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 18, 2021 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor John Buhr officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. The family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., Monday morning, in the funeral home.
