Marba Lenore Bills Skola Obituary

Marba Bills Skola was born on March 12, 1930 in Salt Lake and passed away peacefully on December 11, 2015. She was the daughter of Eldon W Bills and Elsie Lenore Johnson. Marba grew up in Soldier Summit, Utah and moved back to Salt Lake when she was 4. She graduated from South High School and attended Stevens Henager School of Business. On March 16, 1951 she married the love of her life, B Henry (Hank) Skola. She held numerous jobs throughout her life - Redford Jewelry, Zions Bank, Continental Bank and RC Elliot Wool where she was the office manager. Marba and Hank owned and operated Midwest Casket Company and Skola Investment Company. Whether for business or pleasure, Marba and Hank enjoyed Sunday road trips. If their travels took them east, west, north or south, their final destination always seemed to be Torrey or Wendover. They traveled extensively to their cabin in Torrey, Utah. Marba did not like big cities; if her travels took her to Las Vegas for business she would insist that Hank return to Mesquite to spend the evening. She enjoyed traveling through Northern California - specifically the redwoods. She loved to dance and always found a partner, because Hank has two left feet. Marba was a very opinionated woman who always spoke her mind. She never left a heated discussion without everyone knowing her position. In the family, her word was law. Every summer she and Hank would spend hours planting flowers in their backyard gardens. She only planted yellow marigolds but somehow one or two orange marigolds popped up in the middle of her garden. The family always knew that Hank would purchase these few orange flowers and place them in her garden for a laugh. It was not uncommon to visit her on a warm summer night and find her outside on the patio dancing to the music from "The Sting". She passed away from complications of Alzheimer's. The family would like to thank all of her dear friends and family who have supported and assisted in her care over the last 12 years. Marba is survived by her husband, B Henry; daughter, Heather (Tom Chapman); grandchildren, Aubrey (Dave), Todd, and Keith. She also leaves behind 4 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. Preceded in death by her father; mother; two brothers, Kirk Bills and Joe Bills; and sister, Chloe Crist. Viewings will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, December 19, 2015, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Jenkins Soffe South Valley 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), South Jordan, Utah. Graveside services will be Saturday, December 19, 2015, at 12:00 Noon at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S., Sandy, Utah.
