Obituary

With broken hearts and the widest void we’ve ever felt, we share the peaceful passing of Casey John Rogalski.  Casey battled stage four metastatic colon cancer diagnosed on June 14th, 2019.  He never stopped fighting! Casey knew Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and communicated to his wife, Megan Rogalski, that he was not afraid to go home; he knew exactly where he was going.  The Lord put all the right family and friends in place at the time of his passing on the afternoon of January 7, 2021.

Casey was the most loving husband to his wife, Megan, and father to his two children, Henry, age 10, and Amelia, age 8.  Casey loved his family deeply and enjoyed taking them on day trips to explore new lakes to fish; their favorite spot being Woods Canyon Lake. They cherished long weekends in Flagstaff, AZ admiring the views from a beautiful home so graciously offered by dear friends and mentors.  The kids looked forward to going to “Dad’s Shop” after school at which Amelia made him a special cup for his tool box to hold her pencils for homework and their candy from the tool trucks that came by each day. Casey taught Henry how to pull an engine and prep his go kart for race day and enjoyed watching Henry learn to play hockey; a sport they both loved to play and watch together.  Casey enjoyed watching Amelia play soccer, teaching her his favorite dance moves, and telling her the silliest jokes. Casey did anything for his baby girl including enduring little to no sleep as she snoozed on his chest almost every night until she was about a year old.

Casey and Megan met in college at Western Michigan University(WMU) in late 2002 through Solid Grounds Ministry.  Pastor let Casey use the garage and Megan attended bible studies and gatherings. Casey was the designated Monday night football hot wings chef! Before long, Casey came to more and more bible studies and gatherings outside of the Solid Grounds Garage. While dating, Casey and Megan enjoyed $2-dollar chicken finger nights at a local restaurant, attending WMU’s hockey games, hanging out with friends, and playing in late night club hockey games.  Casey and his good friends played for Team Munchie Mart while the “wives” swooned but mostly chatted and laughed at (with love) their soon to be husbands.  Casey and Megan married on June 22, 2007 in Ocean Isle Beach, NC.  They honeymooned in Crested Butte Colorado, which began a mutual love for the outdoors. Casey taught Megan how to cast and they even took fly fishing lessons together. He and Megan dreamt about traveling to New Zealand one day to fly fish.

Casey grew up in Titusville, Pennsylvania, the son of Charmaine and Eric Rogalski. As a product of Western Pennsylvania, Casey grew up with a passion for the outdoors, hunting and fishing with his dad. He graduated from University of Northwestern-Ohio (UNO) with a degree in Automotive Engineering and specialty in alternate fuels and racing in 2007. Ultimately, Casey turned his passion into his career in Scottsdale, Arizona working for Arrowlane Vintage Racing. Arrowlane quickly became a second family for Casey.

Casey was known for his stories. He had a charm to his story telling that made you feel as though you were there with him, even if you didn’t know him. Casey’s spirit was infectious and he knew just how to lift the mood in a room. His humor was sneaky but had great timing. The void of Casey in body will be present forever but Casey expressed clearly for his family and friends to remember and celebrate the wonderful memories and relationships he cherished.  He will always be with us, prepping us for race day. As him and his best man and best friend greeted each other every day when they taught auto shop in Findlay, Ohio; wake up each morning and say to Casey, “Hola Bato”.
