Melvin Dixon

Mt. Pleasant Melvin Eugene Dixon, age 79, passed away with his loving wife by his side on January 12, 2021. He was born in China Grove January 18, 1941 to the late Lawson & Vernie Dixon. Mel was also preceded in death by his daughter Wendy Lynn Dixon, his brothers, Ed Dixon, Lewis Dixon, Carl Dixon, and William Dixon. A graveside service with full military honors provided by Cabarrus County Honor Guard, Army National Honor Guard, and The NC Patriot Riders will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021, 10:00 am at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens, 3892 Hwy 73 E., Concord. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 34 years, Kathleen Dixon; his daughters, Karen Marie and Debra Ann Dixon; his sister, Mary Dixon; his step children, Debra Lynn, Derick, Jeff, and Scott; his grandchildren, Dylan Case, Donevin O’Dell, Brooke Ann Mordell, and Ariel Dixon. Mel proudly served this country in the United States Army. He worked for General Motors for many years. After retirement, Mel and Kathleen enjoyed life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Wounded Warriors Project in Mel’s honor, https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/. Cabarrus Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery of Concord is serving the Dixon family.
