Vasile Bora

Vasile Bora, 74, passed away on January 9th, 2021 in Vancouver, WA, after a one-year battle with cancer. His funeral service will be held this Thursday at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery & Funeral Chapel in Vancouver, WA. Vasile was born on January 14th, 1946 in Timisoara, Romania to Elisabeta and Dumitru Bora. In Romania, Vasile had a successful career in hospitality. He married Floarea on September 13th, 1969 and together, they had and raised two children. In the summer of 1987 Vasile risked his life to escape communist Romania and eventually found his way to America in 1990. In 1991 he was able to bring his family here and begin a new life. During his first few years in America, he worked as a cook, prior to opening a successful business with his wife, which they ran together for 25 years. Vasile is remembered as an energetic man, with a larger than life personality, humorous and friendly. He loved talking to people, getting to know their stories while sharing his, and was always eager to help when someone was in need. He loved music, fishing, good food and had an unwavering passion for cars. He had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important — the simplicity of living a life with those you love. Vasile is survived by his wife Floarea, son Cosmin, daughter Andreea and her husband Andrei, sisters Lenuta and Ani, and grandchildren Anthony and Alex.
