Sandra Marcela Ramos Bartolon was born on the 24th of August, 1981 in the city of Ixchiguan, San Marcos back in Guatemala. She was born to Sebestian Ramos Martin and Simona Bartolon who both died when Sandra was 8. She grew under the care of her oldest sister Matilde Ramos. Sandra was the middle sister, the youngest being Delfina Ramos. Once she was 10, she decided to travel to Mexico seeking a job and a better life. Later she traveled to the US in 2000 when she was 18. Her oldest sister joined her in North Carolina which is where Sandra had her first daughter, Berenice. Together they moved to Minnesota where Sandra decided to settle and have a family. She united in marriage with Francisco Marquez. She became a mother again when giving birth to her other kids, Alondra Emely, Elmer Ezekiel, and Ariella Grace. Fishing was one of her pastimes with her family. She also enjoyed traveling and seeing new places. She loved walks in nature and playing checkers. It was in church where she found her calling of working with kids in Sunday school. Sandra met God in 2004 at Iglesia Pentecostal Unida Hispana. She was a Godly woman and loved nothing more than being in the house of God with her family. Wherever she went she shared God’s love through her actions. She was a sweet and humble person always winning people over with her kindness. She was well known for her loving smile. Even when diagnosed with colon cancer in July of 2020, she remained a positive person who encouraged others until her peaceful passing on the 9th of January, 2021. She passed away in her home accompanied by her whole family. Her love and story continue through the hearts of those who had the privilege of meeting her. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., at Iglesia Pentecostal Unida Hispana in Worthington, MN. Burial will be held in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
