Betty Joe Parrott White Ernst, age 90, of Birmingham, AL, passed away on Friday January 8, 2021 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham. She was born in Corbin, KY a daughter of the late James Elbert Parrott and Beulah Lucille Shotwell Parrott. Betty was a retired telephone consultant from Southern Bell Telephone Company. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Robert White and Herman Ernst; sisters, Dora Lee Shippey, Shirley A. Parker, and Mary L. Cummins; and by her brothers, Don R. Parrott and James Parrott. Betty is survived by her daughter, Charla Childers (Noel); son, Charles White (Leah); grandchildren; Doug Childers, Jenny Kruse (Ryan), Kim Didion (Roy), Nicole Valencia (Albert), Amy Knight (Mike), C.J. White (Jenny), and Chelsea Lungmus (Aaron); 13 great grandchildren; sister, Beulah Queary (Harold); brother, Tommy Parrott (Peggy); and by several nieces, nephews, family and friends. Graveside service will be held at 10am on Tuesday January 12, 2021 in the Pine Hill Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Combs officiating. Anyone attending is asked to wear a mask and to social distance in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines. Arrangements by the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin, Kentucky.
