Vaun Darrel Adamson Obituary
Private Graveside Services for V. Darrel Adamson, age 92, of O’Neill, NE will be held at the O’Neill Cemetery in O’Neill. Pastor Mike Durre will officiate. Darrel passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, NE.
Darrel was born July 4, 1928 in Belgrade, NE to Richard Adamson and Mildred (Clauff) Adamson. Darrel left home in 1942 at the age of 14 and graduated at the age of 16 from Fullerton High School. He then moved to Arizona and worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for a year before returning to Nebraska. Over the years, he worked at a carnival, owned a theater and gas station in Fullerton, sold Kaiser cars, owned a freight business and gas station in O’Neill, and sold livestock feed and recreation vehicles.
Darrel served in the US Army one year and the US Navy Air Corps Reserve for five years.
Darrel is survived by his wife of 50 years, Vivian Adamson of O’Neill, NE; children, Debbie Boltz of Lincoln, NE, Kent (Kathy) Adamson of Lincoln, NE, Janet Swim of Kansas City, MO, and Todd Adamson of Lincoln, NE; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Darrel is preceded in death by his parents; his former wife of 16 years, Beverly Matthews Adamson (mother of Debbie, Kent, Janet, and Todd); his brother, Eugene Adamson; two grandsons, Jacob Adamson and Brockford Boltz.
