Joan C. Reed

Joan C. Reed passed away peacefully after complications from pneumonia in Buford, Georgia, on January 11, 2021, at the age of 81. She was born on February 6, 1939, along with her twin sister Joyce Pope, in Wooster, Ohio, to the late George and Ruth (Conway) Bannerman. She was a 1957 graduate from Northwestern High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll, Reed, parents, parents-in-law, brother, David and his wife Pat Bannerman, and her brother-in-law Gary Pope. Her children will deeply miss her. She is survived by children Randy (Karen Reed), Luling, Texas, Annette (Terry) Reed, Mansfield, Ohio, Renee (Tom) Shull, Buford, Georgia, and Jeff (Marie) Reed, Buford, Georgia, Laura Reed, Richardson, Texas, Judy (Gary) Sparks, Sugarland Texas, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, her twin sister, Joyce Pope and her brother, Bill (Karla) Bannerman. Joan was a receptionist for the Wayne Center for the Arts until she retired. She also worked at Halliburton Services for 10 years and Bosch Rexroth for 16 years. She loved to dance in the Red Stocking Review (1972 – 2001) and was an avid seamstress, sewing barbie doll clothes, Christmas stockings, tree skirts, and angels. She collected stamps, Barbie dolls, bells, and antiques. Her favorite holiday was Christmas when she opened up her home for everyone to see her Christmas scenes of houses, people, animals, nativity scenes, and outside lights. Due to the current pandemic and for the safety of others, there will be a private celebration of life service that will take place at the convenience of the family. The service will be live streamed on Saturday, 1:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster.
