Born July 2, 1929 in Bountiful, Utah to Briant and Hazel Stringham. Her family moved to Clearfield, Utah when she was 8 years old. She attended Weber College for one year and then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northern California mission. She married her faithful companion, George W. Pate in December of 1953. They made their home in Mapleton before moving to Clearfield then Mountain Green. They raised their 6 children and were married for 62 years. She and George served in the San Bernardino, CA mission together. They also served for many years in the Ogden Temple before moving to Orem in 2004. Jane served in many callings in the Church including Primary, Relief Society, scouting and canning chairperson. She loved to decorate cakes, sew and craft and in later years, took great pride in her garden and the produce that she grew. She also loved playing her organ. She was always proud of her family and loved to spend time with them whenever possible. Many people will miss her hugs and warm smile. She is preceded in death by her husband, George, parents, 4 brothers, 1 sister and many in-laws. Jane is survived by her children: Marv (Tracy), Ron, Alan (Susan), Howard (Sherry), Gary (Shelly), and Marilyn (Greg), 21 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren Viewing, Saturday, January 16, from 9 a.m. -10:30 a.m. followed by funeral for immediate family at 11:00 a.m., The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 546 N 500 W, Orem, UT 84057, you may also view the funeral services on this Zoom link - http://mywebcast.churchofjesuschrist.org/Events/gh.
