She attended and graduated from Edgerton High School in 1965. After graduation she attended beauty school in the Twin Cities. Val was united in marriage to Wayne Gordon on November 12, 1970. She had two sons and one daughter. Val loved living on the farm and taking care of her animals. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Jackson, MN. Val loved spending time and taking care of her grandchildren, playing with her pets, and being outdoors. Valerie passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at the Crossroads Care Center in Worthington, MN. Valerie was preceded in death by her mother Doretta (Ennenga) Christensen, infant son Aaron Gordon, uncle Paul Popken and aunt Jennie Popken. Valerie is survived by son Aric (Naomi) Gordon, grandchildren Trinity Gordon - great grandchild Laken Valerie Roling, Britton Gordon, and Madelynn Gordon and daughter Stephanie Gordon (Mark Weaver). Private family services will be held at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington. Valerie's grandchildren and great grandchildren will serve as honorary bearers.Obituary
