Donna Arlene Leavens (Calgary)

Donna Arlene Leavens, of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the South Health Campus, Calgary, on January 9, 2021 at the age of 77 years. Donna will be dearly missed by her beloved husband of fifty-five years, Ralph and their children: Lana and her daughter Casey Holmes of Calgary, Patrick (Kyoko) Leavens and their children Tyler and Ewan of Niigata, Japan. Donna will also be missed by her brother Delbert (Helen) Edey of High River as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Norm and Tina Edey. Donna grew up and attended school in Cayley, AB. Upon completing high school, she continued on to Calgary and attended the Modern College of Business, receiving her business diploma. She then began her career as an administrative assistant in the insurance industry where she made many life long friends. Donna retired in 2001 due to health reasons but continued on as the social butterfly of her many friends and family whom she enjoyed spending her time with. Donna will also be missed for her ability to keep her family organized and on track. Like her father, Donna was an accomplished driver and enjoyed it, so she was usually the family driver om most forays in the city and on most Sunday drives. Donna’s family would like to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses of the South Health Campus for the care Donna received in her last months, as well as her family physician Dr. Judith Lynn Gillis of the Crowfoot Village Family Practice for the special attention she gave both Donna and Ralph as well as Snodgrass Funeral Home for the care they have given.
