Frank Wilson
Frank Wilson of North Sandwich, New Hampshire and Waldoboro, Maine died January 9, 2021 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He was born Francis Charles Wilson Jr in Lakeport, New Hampshire, May 7, 1947, the son of Francis and Sophie (Byk) Wilson. He attended Exeter High School and Berwick Academy and graduated from UNH with a degree in marine zoology. For twenty-eight years, he owned and operated Pier II Restaurant on Portsmouth Harbor and retired in 2000. Frank and his wife then headed north to the quiet of the White Mountains. Frank was an accomplished, instrument-rated pilot and an animal lover who enjoyed watching the bears, moose and other wildlife on his property in North Sandwich. He especially liked exploring the islands of the Medomak River from his home in Midcoast Maine as well as maintaining his farm, fields and woodlands in North Sandwich. Frank is survived by his wife of fifty years, Debbie (Patch) Wilson, his daughter Brittany Sobey, her husband Jim and his precious grandson Adrian, all of North Hampton, his brother Jack Wilson and wife Rae of Las Cruses, NM, several nieces and nephews, including his special niece Cristine Topping of Crofton, MD, his best friend Dennis Juniper of Thornton and Bentley, his beloved rescue dog. Frank was predeceased by his son Christopher Wilson in 2005 and sister Nancy Cushman in 2006. Burial will be in the spring in the walled cemetery on his North Sandwich property where he joins other Wilson family members as well as generations of other Gilman and Fellows families who lived on the old farm. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and lover of all animals. He will be sorely missed.
