<p>&nbsp;</p> <p>James Edward Mickens was born October 25, 1965 in Sumter to the late Isaac and Lillie Mae Mickens.</p> <p>He attended the public school of Sumter County.</p> <p>He was employed with M &amp; M carpenter until his health failed. He was loving caring person who loved his family unconditionally. It was never a dull moment with James he always had that smile on his face. In Uncle James voice &ldquo;Just saying a little something&rdquo;. He had a hobby and passion for carpentry work.</p> <p>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Monique McMillian, a son, Alphonzo Simon and a brother, John Anthony Mickens.</p> <p>On Thursday, January 7, 2021 our loving and caring brother James passed away at the age of 55 in Sumter, SC.</p> <p>He leaves to cherish his memories; six sisters, Martha (Herbert) Harriett, Shirley (Henry) Bethea, Mamie (James) Rogers, Emma (Larry) Peoples, Laura (Vincent) Dunham and Juanita Mickens; five brothers, Isaac (Martha) Mickens, Bobby (Geneva) Mickens, Robert (Annette) Mickens, Sammie Mickens and Reginald (Debra) Mickens; a special brother-in-law, Robert Taylor and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews and friends.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

James Edward Mickens was born October 25, 1965 in Sumter to the late Isaac and Lillie Mae Mickens.

He attended the public school of Sumter County.

He was employed with M & M carpenter until his health failed. He was loving caring person who loved his family unconditionally. It was never a dull moment with James he always had that smile on his face. In Uncle James voice “Just saying a little something”. He had a hobby and passion for carpentry work.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Monique McMillian, a son, Alphonzo Simon and a brother, John Anthony Mickens.

On Thursday, January 7, 2021 our loving and caring brother James passed away at the age of 55 in Sumter, SC.
