Jonathan Fernandez passed unexpectedly in his home on January 5th, 2021. He was 29 years old and leaves behind his parents, Jose and Olga Fernandez; his sister, Carolina Fernandez; his niece, Ellie Gonzalez; and his brother-in-law, Brody Gonzalez. Jonathan was born in Queens, New York on April 19th, 1991. He was the best son and brother anyone could ever ask for. The best friend anyone could have. Jonathan’s presence brought joy and happiness to everyone around him. His humor was incomparable. If you ever needed a favor or help with anything, Jonathan was someone you could depend on. He was such a people person. Jonathan loved animals and cared for his dog Zeus as if he was his son. On his free time Jonathan loved playing video games and had a passion for sports. He played Football for Midwood High School, where he met some of his best friends till this day. He grew up playing soccer, basketball, baseball, karate, and swimming. He was always an energetic and adventurous child. Jonathan was always intelligent and educated. He was a hard worker and ultimately became a sanitation worker for DSNY. He loved it. Jonathan was surrounded by amazing people and he loved going out and making everyone laugh. A piece of Jonathan will always live within all of us. His memory will live on in our hearts forever.
