Teresa Parker Obituary

Vardaman---Teresa Faye Holder Parker, 67, passed away at her home in Vardaman on Thursday, January 7, 2021. Born July 23, 1953, in West Point, MS, she is the daughter of Hubert Holder and the late Dorothy Holder. She was a 1971 graduate of Vardaman High School, and was retired after many years with the Calhoun County School District. She was a member of Mt. Herman Primitive Baptist Church. In 1971, she married the love of her life, Phillip Carey Parker, and they have spent almost 50 wonderful years together. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. Teresa’s favorite sport was whatever her grandchildren were playing. She cherished the time spent with them, and would often “facetime” them when they were not with her. She also had a love for cooking and being outdoors in her yard. She loved to keep things plain and simple, and usually had a smile on her face or was carrying on a joke. She was such a precious soul, and her family will miss her deeply, but they find some comfort in knowing she is now in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Pryor Funeral Home is honored to serve the Parker family. A Graveside Service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 3:30pm at Mt. Herman Primitive Baptist Cemetery. Bro. Mike Ramage and Bro. Calvin Warren will be officiating with interment to follow. Pallbearers will be Kevin Knox, Nathan Hood, Davin Parker, Chris Reifers, Trey Boyette, and Xan Hancock. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony McNair, Derek Doss, Trent Edmondson, Tim Jack Edmondson, John Killen, and Norman Ward. She leaves behind her husband of nearly 50 years, Phillip Carey Parker; father, Hubert Holder; daughter, Carrie “April” Scott and husband Dean of Pearl, MS; son, Phillip “Shaun” Parker and wife Brandi of Vardaman; sister, Cil Knox and husband Edward of Columbus, MS; two brothers, Mike Holder and wife Judy of Vardaman, and Sonny Holder and wife Lynn of Grenada; 4 grandchildren, Ethan Parker, Grant Parker, Luke Parker, and Lilli Grace Elmore. She was preceded in death by her mother; brothers, Jimmy Holder and Gene Holder; mother-in-law, Nora Parker, and father-in-law, Tommie Lee Parker. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt Herman Cemetery Fund. Expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at pryorfuneralhome.com.
