BALL, George R. ‘Bobby’ Pictou George Robert ‘Bobby’ Ball passed away suddenly at home on January 6, 2021 with his wife Jean by his side. Bobby was the son of the late Captain Ruben and Mary Chambers (Camp) Ball, of Rencontre West, Newfoundland. As a young married couple Mary and Ruben moved to Halifax where Ruben worked as a Captain with the Canadian Coast Guard until he retired. They raised two children Martha ‘Jane’ and George ‘Bobby’ Ball. Bobby worked as a pipefitter with Local 244 for over 50 years where he met many friends along the way, who he still remained close with even after retiring. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 53 years, Jean; son, Kelly (Barb), Alix, AB; grandson, Shawn (Bryanna), Pictou; granddaughter, Bobbi Jean (John), Alix Alberta; brother-in-law, Allan (Leona) MacKinnon, Pictou; great-grandchildren, Landon, Ayden, Greyson, Paisley, Everett, Audrey, Elaine; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Jane (John) Chapman. Cremation has taken place. By request there will be no services. A family graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations in Bobby’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
