Dan Samuel Coleman Obituary

Mr. Dan Coleman, age 82, of Skipperville, Alabama passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021.

Visitation will be Friday, January 15, 2021 from 3 PM to 5 PM at J.L. Trawick Memorial Chapel, 1048 Martin Luther King Jr Avenue Ozark, Alabama 36360.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 11 AM at Asbury Cemetery, 2536 County Road 33 Skipperville, Alabama 36374.

Dan Samuel Coleman was born May 2, 1938 in Roeton, Alabama to the late Jerry Coleman and the late Ollie Mae Haynes Coleman.  He departed this life on January 7, 2021.  He was the third eldest of nine children and the father of eleven.

He was preceded in death by two children: Danny and Amy; and five siblings: James, Johnny, Jimmy, Jessie and Nancy Ruth.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted wife of 62 years: Matilda McLeod Coleman; nine children: Linda (Cleveland) Ewing, Brenda (Alfred) Fanner both of Ozark, Alabama, Diana (Richard) Johnson of Clio, Alabama, Gwen (John) Reynolds of Ozark, Alabama, Tony Coleman Johnson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lisa Coleman of Dothan, Alabama, Dan Coleman, Jr. (Koreser) of Daleville, Alabama, Homer Bernard Coleman of Skipperville, Alabama and Wayne (Alma) Williams of Ozark, Alabama; three siblings: Rev. Dr. Moses Coleman, Fannie (Gary) Paul and Ida B. Coleman Goldsmith; he is survived by 23 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; surviving in laws are: Lowell (Selma) McLeod of Columbus, Georgia, Ardell McLeod of Skipperville, Alabama, Rose Coleman of Clio, Alabama and Henry Horne of Geneva, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
