Garland Weaver Jordan II

G. Weaver Jordan II was born on 16 August 1925 in Oklahoma City, OK to Garland Weaver Jordan I and Sarah Vera (Sullivan) Jordan. He passed away on 25 APRIL 2008 of an aortic aneurysm. He was raised in Oklahoma City and attended Classen High School, but graduated from New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, NM. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served from 1943 – 1946. He attended Oklahoma University in Norman, OK. He left college to pursue his career in the Oil and Gas Exploration business. He began as a land man and lease broker and later formed his own exploration company, Cimarron Exploration dealing with domestic production in the Rockies and central United States. He married Joyce Ellen Torfin on 20 May 1977 at Valley Grove Lutheran Church in Kloten, ND Weaver never met a stranger. He was a charismatic and engaging man of good cheer with a fantastic sense of humor. Children found "Poppa Weaver" irresistible. He had a way of drawing people out and making them aware of their talents. He was supportive of his friends and family in their endeavors; many saying he made a profound impact on their lives. Weaver loved animals and being close to nature. He enjoyed sailing in the Puget Sound area, flying his plane, reading, playing golf, fishing, hiking and camping over the years. His favorite pastime was playing canasta or scrabble (he was usually the winner) and spending time with his dogs Quan and Gizmo. Sharing time with family and friends always made him happiest. Weaver leaves behind his beloved wife of 31 years, Joyce Ellen; son, Alexander Knute Jordan & daughter Alexis Kjia Jordan of Silverdale, WA; daughters, Barbara (Stephen) Wampler of Bend, OR; Jennifer Eicher of Smithville, TX; sons, David Jordan of Smithville, TX; G. W. Jordan III of Port Ludlow, WA; daughter Beverlee Carr of Issaquah, WA; Fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sarah Vera Jordan and grandson, Joshua Santschi.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kitsap Humane Society.
