WOODRUFF- Thelma Armstrong Whittaker, 93, formerly of 3456 Harris Bridge Road went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 6, 2021.

  She was born in Laurens County, December 21, 1927 to the late Archie Vernon and Iona Harper Armstrong and was the widow of George Manly Whittaker.  She was a member of Bramlett United Methodist Church and was retired from W.R. Grace, Cryovac Division.

  Surviving are one daughter, Georgia Whittaker Bullington of Duncan (Joseph); one sister, Helen Gossett of Simpsonville; one brother, Jerry Armstrong of Dallas, Texas; 3 grandchildren, Stephen Lanford (Carrie), Leigh Whittaker Lanford and Erin Lanford Tonnsen (Eric); 6 great-grandchildren, Kaylyn Lanford Clayton (Grant), Alexis Lanford, Whittaker Theo, Olivia Theo, George Tonnsen and Lillian Tonnsen; one great-great-grandchild, Annie Whittaker Clayton.

  A private family graveside service will be held at Bramlett United Methodist Church Cemetery.

  The family would like to give thanks and gratitude to her beloved caregivers, Berniece Phelps, Lisa Phelps and Betty Jean Thompson and also to the staff and caregivers of The Palmettos and NHC of Mauldin.

  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Palmettos of Mauldin, 810 East Butler Road, Greenville, SC 29607.
