Stanley Elwyn Granner,89, of Eldora, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at the Eldora Specialty Care.

Funeral services for Stanley will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, January 11, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Aaron Hambleton officiating.  Public visitation will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 pm on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the Creps Abels Funeral Home located in Eldora, Iowa.  Following the funeral, Stanley will be laid to rest at Eastlawn Cemetery. Stanley Elwyn Granner was born on December 12, 1931, the son of Walter H “Doc” and Christine (Hoines) Granner.  He was raised and educated in the Owasa school district, where he graduated from Owasa Consolidated school with the class of 1949.  Following his graduation, Stanley honorably served his country for two years in the United States Army. 

Stanley was united in marriage to Janice Butler on June 5, 1954 at the First Baptist Church in Eldora, IA.  They farmed the Granner Century farm for 43 years.  They are the Parents of Tammy, Todd and Andrew.  Stanley retired to Eldora in 1996. He was active in Dorothy’s Senior Center, served on the Board of Directors for 6 years, and was chairman for 3 years.  Stanley delivered Meals on Wheels, and provided transportation for elderly folks around Eldora and out of town for medical appointments.  Stanley was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and served on many boards and committees.  He will always be remembered for his warm smile and his love for others. 

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Janice of 66 years; children: Tammy (Dave) Mackie, Todd (Bretta) Granner and Andy (Jami) Granner; grandchildren: Chris, Carlin (Ayshia Stephensen), Caitlin, and Curtis Mackie, Sam Granner, Ben, Emma and Kelsey Granner and Clay (Kara) Stevens; as well as one brother: Robert “Bob” Granner.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter “Doc” and Christine Granner
