Jeffrey Tyrone Nelson passed away suddenly in Tacoma, Washington on December 19, 2020 at the age of 63. Born in Basin, Wyoming on January 22, 1957, he was the son of Leonard and Carmen Nelson. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Margaret E. Harmon, June 23rd, 1979. He graduated from Franklin Pierce High School in 1975. Jeff was known for his love of life, his family, friends and animals. He became a member of the Puget Sound Pigeon Club in 1980 and had champion racing homers for many years. He always had a menagerie of animals which included dogs, cats, pigeons, chickens and ducks. Jeff loved the outdoors and spent much of his free time shooting, fishing, and was always on the lookout for unique rocks. Jeff was Gifted in his abilities. He progressed through his early jobs in industrial maintenance to become an accomplished professional Millwright. He held several licenses and many distinguished certifications for applied skills. Jeff is survived by his wife, Margaret; his son, Matt Nelson of Puyallup; his daughter, Marla Vormestrand (Sean) of Tacoma; five grandchildren, Owen, Eric, Cindel, Mace and Luke; his brother, Max Nelson (Gayle) of Puyallup, Washington; his sister, Carmalen Gillilan (Gill) of Las Vegas, Nevada and many wonderful nieces and nephews who he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Nelson and Carmen Saathoff, as well as his loving grandparents. Jeff was generous and had a big heart and was a loyal friend. He will be so deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
