Mary Rosetta Fritz (Gwaltney), 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep January 4, 2021 at Walnut Creek Alzheimer’s Special Care Center. She was born on July 24, 1929 near Haubstadt on the old family farm to the late Clarence and Rosetta (Rainey) Gwaltney. Rosie graduated from Lynnville High School in 1947 and from Oakland City College and Indiana State University with a master’s degree in education. Rosie worked at local banks for nine years and taught school for 19. She enjoyed boating and going to the beach and spending time with her family. She was a member of North Friendship General Baptist Church where she was choir director for several years. Rosie was preceded in death by Doyle, her husband of 53 years, one sister and seven brothers. She is survived by her son Bill (Winnie), grandson Ben (Stephanie), and great-granddaughter Addy. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Rosie’s family would like to thank the staff of Walnut Creek for their loving service as well as Nancy, Mary, Christy, Christie, and Linda Sue who helped care for her while she was still at home. A PRIVATE viewing will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at PEMBERTON-BRADLEY FUNERAL HOME in Lynnville with burial following at Eden Cemetery.
