Ronald L. Martin Obituary
Ronald Leroy Martin, age 88, a resident of Aurora, passed away on January 3, 2021 at his Aurora home.
He was born on September 14, 1932 in Beloit, WI to the late Gwenodine and Roger S. Martin.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 67 years, Verna Martin (nee Crawford); children Daniel (Correne), Susan (Joe), and Roger; grandchildren Matthew (Megan), Sarah, Dani (Austin), and Ben; great-granchildren Landon and Alice.
Ronald graduated from Beloit High School in 1950, went on to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree from Beloit College on June 7, 1953, and then earned his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin on June 21, 1957. His hard work academically earned him the DOW Fellowship Award in Chemistry.
Upon completing his education, Ronald went on to work in the research department of AMOCO until his retirement in 1992 at 60 years old.
Always a man committed to his faith and always showing a deep love of the Lord, Ronald was a longtime member of the Living Stone Church in Aurora.
Ronald loved the Green Bay Packers and the White Sox, bowling, golf, and travel, but mostly he was a devoted family man who loved his family indefinitely. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
Interment will be privately held at Naperville Cemetery, Naperville, IL.
A Celebration of Life will take place in March at the Living Stone Church in Aurora. Date and time will be updated at a future date.
