Obituary
Leonidas Edwardo Abad Passed away on March 25, 2013. He was born April 22, 1920 in Guayaquil, Ecuador and served in the Ecuadorian Army. During World War II he served in the Merchant Marines. After the war Leonidas moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where he met and married Ophelia Jacobson. They had three children and also a step daughter, Carol Ann. He moved his family to San Pedro in July, 1963 and was employed at Todd Shipyard as a floor machinist from 1963 until his retirement in 1982. Leonidas enjoyed 30 years of retirement and was still driving and very active into his 90s. He loved his family, his friends, staying busy, soccer, his coffee, the United States and his home country Ecuador. Leonidas is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ophelia; sons, Edward, Richard, and Louis; daughter, Zoila Abad; daughter in law, Margarita Abad; grandchildren, Eddie and Christina Abad and Ivan, Rafael and Fabrizio Molina-Abad; and numerous relatives in the United States and Ecuador. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 1, 2013, 7:00 pm at McNerney's Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be private. Visitation will be on Monday, 1-7 pm at McNerney's Mortuary
