Frank attended Capitol Hill High School and joined the US Air Force during the Korean War - serving in the Medical Services Division while stationed in Tachikawa, Japan. Upon returning stateside he started as an interior craftsman with Sky Service, advancing to master craftsman at Aero Commander, both at Wiley Post Airport. For 50 years his interior creations and services were sought out by classic car collectors across the country when he ultimately left the aerospace industry and opened “Interiors by Frank” to follow his passion for automobiles and to showcase his master craftmanship. His greatest delight was raising his family and being “Papa” to his grand & great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 5 siblings and his son Randall D Smith. He is survived by his wife Earlene, daughter & son-in-law Diane and Charles Dodson, granddaughter Chelsea Dodson, grandson & wife Dr. Chance and Dr. Julie Dodson, & great grandchildren Jane and Bennett Dodson. He is also survived by his brothers Pastor Johnny Steiger & Richard Smith, his sister Melba Guice Spears and numerous precious relatives & friends whom he loved so much. He lived, he loved, he laughed and he prayed. His earthly journey is over but not forgotten.
