Jeffery Forbes Obituary

Jeff Forbes passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 2, 2021. He went out as he lived his entire life: obtusely optimistic. Anyone who looks for evidence of the fact Jeff never held a grudge and always saw the best in people and situations need only look at his inexplicable enduring devotion to the Dallas Cowboys ("This is going to be the year they go back to the Super Bowl!" ~Jeff, every. single. year.) Jeff never met a person who wasn't a friend and constantly gave to those who were in need. A lover of all things classic rock, he was an avid fan of concerts and music played just a little too loud. He was preceded in life by his parents, Jerry and Del, who taught him at a young age that his challenges in life would not stop him from succeeding at anything so long as he worked hard. Jeff is survived by his brother and sister in law, Jerry and Theresa, their four children, Amber, Krista, Joanna, and Jeremy, his eight great-nieces and nephews, and his honorary step-mother, Irene. The family has rightfully decided Jeff's life should be celebrated the same way he lived it, not with a traditional service, but with a gathering of friends to share stories, music, and domestic beers (and of course the obligatory crushing of the empty beer can on the forehead in tribute). To ensure the family can see as many of you as possible, they will be planning an outdoor celebration of Jeff's life in late spring/early summer, when weather and safety permit. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati. Details will follow.
