<p><br /> William James Vannatter, 78, of Chapmanville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, from Logan Regional Medical Center.</p> <p>Born February 12, 1942, at Logan County, WV, he was the son of the late Willie Vannatter and Rhoda Mills Vannatter. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by three brothers: Thomas Vannatter, Charlie Vannatter, and Millard Vannatter, and one sister, Rhoda Fry.</p> <p>William was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a devout Christian and a member of Shining Light United Baptist Church at Chapmanville, WV, for over 35 years. A coal miner for more than 25 years, he was also a member of the U.M.W.A. William was an avid turkey hunter and loved to ginseng, hunt, and fish.</p> <p>Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Geraldine Vannatter; his children: Greg Vannatter, Michael (Elizabeth) Vannatter, and Lydia (Jerry) Taylor; his grandchildren: Amanda (John) Watts, Brittany Vannatter, Keila Vannatter, Lydea Vannatter, Clara (Brandon) Armagast, and Derek (Kaitlyn) Maynard; his great-grandchildren: Mason, Chase, Devin, Carlee, and Landon; four sisters: Madeline Leannis, Myrtle (Danny) Staley, Maxine Farley, and Roxie (Clayton) Hogston; one sister-in-law, Joann Gore. William also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.</p> <p>The Vannatter family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Marzouk for his care and friendship throughout the years.</p> <p>Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Jimmy Carter and Rev. Rick Adkins officiating.</p> <p>Burial will follow in the Gore-Vannatter Cemetery at Harts, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.</p> <p>Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Saturday at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Chapmanville, WV.</p> <p>Evans Funeral Home &amp; Cremation Services of Chapmanville, WV, is in charge of the arrangements.<br /> &nbsp;</p>

Burial will follow in the Gore-Vannatter Cemetery at Harts, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Saturday at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Chapmanville, WV.
