Salvatore Esposito Salvatore (Big Sal) Esposito passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the age of 63. He was a native Staten Islander residing in South Beach his entire life. He was well known, loved and respected by all. Salvatore attended New Dorp High School where he was best known for his talent in hockey and at one point played for a Canadian team. He also a member of their football team. Salvatore was an Operating Engineer in Local 15, as well as, owning his own excavation company with his brothers. Machinery was his life. Salvatore is survived by his brothers Frank (Carol), sister-in-law Denise, wife of Michael, who perished on September 11, 2001, Joseph (Karen), Simone (Agnus), and Salvatore Mingoia (Beth). He was the beloved uncle to 16 nieces/nephews and 6 great nieces/nephews. Although Salvatore never married or had children of his own, he was an outstanding role model. He was a “Father”, “Uncle Sal” and loyal friend to all those in his life, not just his family because he touched the lives of so many people. Salvatore will truly be missed.
