<p>Florence Michael Yannios, 91, of Plainville, passed away on December 29, 2020, of natural causes. In her last years, she resided at the Gables in Farmington, CT.&nbsp;</p> <p>She was born on January 9, 1929 in Meriden, CT to Michael (Skandalakis) and Jane (nee Pappas (Papadopoulou)) Scandale of Northampton, MA.&nbsp;</p> <p>She graduated from Northampton High School in 1947, and went on to earn a BA from Northampton Commercial College in 1951. She worked in Hospital Administration at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, MA. She married Dr. James N. Yannios, an internist and cardiologist on November 20, 1955, in Holyoke, MA. They resided in Plainville , and were married for 39 years up till his death in 1995.&nbsp;</p> <p>Florence was a former member of the Country Club of Farmington, and the Sachems Head Yacht Club in Guilford, CT.&nbsp;</p> <p>Florence is survived by her daughter Lisa James Yannios, and her grandson, and the light of her life, Christopher James Kallianiotis, both of Plainville. She leaves behind her brother George (Sonny) Scandale (Jean) of Northampton, MA, her niece Dr. Joanne Scandale of Camillus, NY and her niece Florence Tefft (Robert) of Louisville, KY, as well as her nephew Dr. Nicholas Yiannios (Alana) of Bentonville, AK, niece Christine (Yiannios) Gibson (Gene) of Dallas, TX and many other nieces and nephews here in the US and in Greece. Florence was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Jenny Scandale, her husband, James N. Yannios, M.D. of Plainville and her brothers-in-law Dr. Christ N. Yiannios of Meriden, CT and Haralambos (Babis) N. Yiannios, M.D. of Athens, Greece.&nbsp;</p> <p>Funeral services will be held on Monday, at 11:00 AM at Saint George Greek Orthodox Church, 301 West Main Street, New Britain, CT. The Rev. Fr. Constantine Makrinos, Protopresbyter will officiate. Burial immediately following the service will be at West Cemetary in Plainville. Memorial donations in Florence&#39;s name may be made to: St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 301 West Main Street, P.O. Box 1753, New Britain, CT, 06052. The Bailey Funeral Home of Plainville has been entrusted with arrangements.</p>

Florence Michael Yannios, 91, of Plainville, passed away on December 29, 2020, of natural causes. In her last years, she resided at the Gables in Farmington, CT.
