Phillip D. Copeland, age 75, returned home to the Lord on January 1st, 2020.
Phillip attended Scott Highschool, and immediately after began working with the Toledo Local 500 Laborers Union - first as a laborer, then as secretary treasurer, and finally as business manager.
Phillip entered politics in 2005, being elected to Toledo City Council, where he served until his election as County Recorder in 2012.
He is preceded in death by his parents Roy Copeland and Bertha Mae Thomas-Copeland, his Uncle Will Copeland, and brothers Ronald Copeland and Gordon Copeland.
He is survived by his sister Sandra Robinson, beloved cousin Phyllis Gilmer, his children Leniece Fuqua, Sarah Copeland, Ashley Deutschle (Kurt Duetschle), Jon Delvaux, his two grandchildren, and a host of beloved family and friends.
