Obituary

Pamela Muriel Stamnes, formerly of Enderlin ND, passed away peacefully at the Villa Maria in Fargo ND on January 2, 2021.

Pam was born on December 11, 1937 in Witney, England to Ernest and Ida Pizzie.  While living in Bampton England she met and later married Ernest W Stamnes Jr while he was serving in the US Air Force.  For the next several years they travelled all over Europe, adopting 2 boys, Ronald and later Shaun, while stationed in Germany. Following Ernest’s service time they settled on the family farm near Buttzville ND to raise their family.

Pam loved North Dakota the wide open prairie and ‘big skies” as well as spending time in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  After their sons left home, Pam and Ernest moved into Lisbon and later to Enderlin until Ernest’s death in 2019.

Pamela loved spiritual things and she was devoted to Jehovah God, a fact borne out by her favorite scripture Micah 4:5.  Pam appreciated the hope the bible holds out to all mankind of the resurrection to a paradise on earth under God’s Kingdom that Jehovah God has promised and Jesus Christ preached about and she took every chance she could to tell people of these truths.

Pamela is survived by her sons Ronald (Kali) of Chugiak AK; Shaun (Deanne) of Green Bay, WI; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; Sister-in-law Sylvia (Stamnes) Fineberg of Minneapolis, many nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends.

Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Barbara and brother-in-law Gordon Ainsworth of Bampton England and her devoted husband of 64 years, Ernest.

Pamela’s family would like to thank the staff, most notably her case manager Sam, at Villa Maria in Fargo for all their love and care over the past year and the doctors, nurses and staff, especially Mary, of Sanford Outpatient Dialysis for your exceptional care over the past several years.

A virtual memorial service will be planned with interment at the Oakwood Cemetery in Lisbon during the summer of 2021.
