Frank Kadezabek Flemington, New Jersey Obituary

Frank Kadezabek

A farm boy for 91 years and an almost life-long Hunterdon County native, Frank Kadezabek was a master putterer, avid bicyclist, and gardener, especially of garlic which he consumed in large quantities. As a young man, he lived on his family’s Dairy farm with his five siblings in Ringoes, NJ where he learned how to take apart and fix almost anything mechanical in nature. After graduating from Flemington High School in 1947 and marrying he moved into a comfortable life on Barley Sheaf Road living in the same home for over 60 years with his wife Nancy and raising a family of three while traveling the world extensively. Frank parlayed his farm mechanical expertise into a job as a maintenance mechanic at Johanna Farms Dairy where he worked for over 40 years until his retirement in the mid-1990’s. Frank raced into retirement, skipping any couch potato phase, and “branched out” into growing apple trees and figs and working part time as a car swap driver for the Flemington Car and Truck Country dealerships to stay out of his wife’s hair.

Frank enjoyed helping to raise his four grandsons to embrace their wilder sides much to the dismay of his daughter and son. He was well loved and doted on by Sam and Benjamin Kadezabek of Weston, CT and Ryan and Wyatt Thompson of Frenchtown, NJ. Frank was a well-known walker and bicyclist in the Raritan Township neighborhood where he resided until 2018 before he moved into Independent Living at Ann’s Choice in Warminster, PA. The move allowed him to focus less on maintaining 2 acres of property and gave him ample time to visit the gym regularly – walk the lovely trails at neighboring Warminster Park – and in general charm the residents and employees at the Independent Living community with his stories and enthusiasm for life. He truly did not believe in slowing down in old age and was active up until late Summer when a bicycle accident landed him in the Long Term Nursing Care and Rehabilitation Unit of Ann’s Choice.

He died from COVID complications on Thursday, December 31, 2020 in a Warminster, PA retirement community with one of many dedicated nurses by his side.

Frank is survived by wife Nancy of 64 years, daughters Susan Kadezabek and her husband Aravind Vijayakirthi of Campell, CA, Lauren Kadezabek of Frenchtown, NJ, a son Ken Kadezabek and his wife Fran Blackman, four grandsons, Ryan & Wyatt Thompson of Frenchtown and Sam & Benjamin Kadezabek of Weston, CT, and his beloved sister Elizabeth Kadezabek of Flemington, along with many nieces and nephews on both sides of his family.

He was pre-deceased by his mother and father Joseph & Mary Kadezabek and his other four siblings Joseph, Norbert, Rose and Ann.
