Wesley was preceded in death by both parents, his two brothers and five sisters, and one grandson.

Wesley grew up in northeast Texas. He snuck off and married the love of his life Joyce Faye Thomas on September 27, 1952. Their ceremony was performed by a J.P. in Arkansas away from those who did not approve of them getting married so young. The “nay-sayers” might be surprised they only stayed married for a short 68 plus years.

Wesley left the GPISD to take a position at Southwest Texas Junior College, Uvalde, TX in 1980 and moving to their place in Leakey. Wesley retired from the college in 1992.

Upon retiring, Wesley was a Co-Founder, first President and active member of the Frio Canyon Parks Association. He also served as a Real County Commissioner in 1998.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Wesley was extremely devoted to his loving wife, family and friends. A mentor to many of those who knew him. He tremendously enjoyed spending time with family and friends on his front porch regaling them with stories and his sense of humor.

Wesley is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Joyce Faye Thomas Greer, his son Ronnie (Cathy) Greer of Leakey, TX, his daughter Judy (Tom) Albrecht of Haltom City, TX, 4 grandkids, 10 great-grandkids, 3 great-great-grandkids and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
