Faye LaRue

Aloha "Faye" (Crouch) LaRue, 87, of Troy, Missouri, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 17, at Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab in Troy, Missouri. Born in Troy, Missouri, On January 7, 1930, Faye was the daughter of the late Fred C. and Mary (Brown) Crouch. Faye married the love of her life, the late Kenneth L. LaRue on June 18, 1949, and they had two daughters. Faye attended Troy Elementary and graduated from Buchanan High in 1948. Faye was a member of the St. Stephen United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School, served as a church representative to Kingdom House, and provided countless pies and cakes for church functions. She also belonged to the Bernice Withrow Club. Later she served alongside her husband, pastor of the Christian Community Center, as a Bible study leader, mentor and counselor. Her favorite reading materials were the Bible and a good cookbook. You could walk into her house on any given day and be greeted by the aroma of her wonderful home cooking and a pot of coffee brewing. Family and countless friends spent hours around her kitchen table listening to her lively stories and receiving her wise advice, support and counsel. She is survived by her two daughters: Cheri Leifert and husband Gary of Troy, MO and Lori Zielonko and husband Frederick of Chesterfield, MO; four grandchildren, Jared Leifert, Joshua Leifert, Quinn Zielonko (Amanda Smith) and Connor Zielonko (Anna Becker); three great-grandchildren, Holly and Tucker Leifert, and Zoey Zielonko, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth LaRue, parents and her sister-in-law, Betty Wegener. Interment will be private at the Troy City Cemetery. Friends will be received on Sunday, November 5th, 2017, at a visitation from 1:30 to 2:30 pm followed by a Celebration of Life service at the Troy Christian Community Center, located at 510 S. Lincoln Drive, Troy, Missouri 63379. There will be time to share your favorite memories or you may bring along a copy of your favorite recipe for the family to enjoy later. Expressions of sympathy and joyful remembrance may be made to the Christian Community Center, under the direction of Kemper-Millard-Keim Family Funeral Chapels, P.O. Box 222, Troy, MO 63379.
