Albert E. Houde, 68, of Sanford, died on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Albert was born on January 5, 1948 to Francis and Rita (Marceau) Houde in Sanford where he grew up and attended local schools, graduating from Sanford High School in 1966. Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served for four years including a tour in Vietnam. He was employed for many years at CYRO in Sanford where he worked until his retirement.

Albert enjoyed golfing, skiing and traveling with his family. When he was younger he also enjoyed fishing and camping. He loved spending time with his family and was especially fond on his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Cynthia Houde of Sanford; three children, Kelly Nichols and her husband Stephen, Jr. of Wells, David Houde and his fiancée Rebecca Bolduc of Springvale and Craig Houde and his wife Nichole of Sanford; five grandchildren, Riley and Reese Nichols and Summers, Alyssa and Wyatt Houde; four brothers, Gary, Glenn, Brian and Scott Houde and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, October 2nd at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. Private interment will be held at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Stanley Road in Springvale.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending a memorial contribution to the local veteran's charity of their choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
