Barbara Dolge Sloan, age 82 of New Hartford and formerly of Dolgeville, NY died April 16, 2016 at the Syracuse Home in Baldwinsville, NY. She was born on January 11, 1934 in Dolgeville, the daughter of Joseph and Maude Watkins Dolge. Barbara married Robert Sloan in 1953 in Dolgeville. After an early career at Daniel Green Slipper Co. and General Electric, she stayed home to raise their children. Her love of family, music and gardening fulfilled her life. Barbara was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. Barbara is survived by her children, Richard (Torri) Sloan of Tarpon Springs, FL, Diana (Judd) Keene of Liverpool, Janet Reilly of N. Syracuse and Christopher Sloan of Leesburg, FL. She is also survived by her grandsons, Derek Sloan, Robert Reilly and Richard Reilly, her granddaughters, Kaylie Kresse and Nicole Kresse and her cousin, Sandra Khan of N. Syracuse. Barbara was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Robert Sloan in 2012. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at McHarrie Pointe's Sage Court and the Syracuse Home. The funeral will be Thursday at 10 am from St. John the Evangelist Church, New Hartford, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm from the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
