Ilene Lucille Wilson, age 83, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on December 25, 2020, at Sleepy Eye Medical Center surrounded by her family after a brave battle with COVID-19. A private interment will take place in Lincoln, NE at a later date. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. Ilene was born July 8, 1937, in Waverly, Nebraska, to Homer and Pearl (Hagglund) Bomberger. She was the sixth of seven children. Ilene had 3 great loves in her life: The Lord, her husband Ken, and her family. She had a very close relationship with her Lord and Savior instilling that love to her children and grandchildren. Ilene married Myron Roettger in May 1954 and that marriage brought into her life: Rae, Richard, and Robert. Ilene married Kenneth Wilson in Wilber, NE in June 1969. That marriage brought her stepson, Ron, into her life. Ken passed away in 1988, but Ilene continued to love him until the day she died. Family was of the utmost importance to Ilene. She especially loved to share with everyone she met about her 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Ilene is survived by her children: Rae (Virgil) Goltz, Richard (Cindy) Roettger, Robert (Melinda) Roettger, and Ron (Pitchaya) Wilson; grandchildren: Richard Roettger, Lori (Mel) Dennis, Desiree (Bryan) McKinney, Adam (Anne) Goltz, Amber (Nathan) Lang, Andrew Goltz, Alex Goltz, Ryan Roettger, Matt (Jessica) Roettger; great-grandchildren: Makayla and Noah Roettger, Brayden Dennis, Zoe Waz, Hallie, Tanner, and Charley McKinney, Broderick and Nickolas Goltz, Hannah Lang, and Brooks Roettger; Sister: Marge Martens, Brothers: Frank (MaryDee) Bomberger, Dick Bomberger, David (Emily) Smith and many nieces, nephews and family friends. Ilene was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, her parents, infant daughter, Kimberly, brothers: Homer Bomberger, Boyd Bomberger, and Larry Smith, and sister, Evelyn Painter.
