Colleen Ibberson age 89, of Sleepy Eye, MN, died on December 20, 2020, at Sleepy Eye Care Center. Colleen Ann Ibberson was born on March 25, 1931 in Sleepy Eye, MN. She grew up in Sleepy Eye and was a foster child of the Leo and Melinda Wersal family NW of Sleepy Eye. She graduated from St Mary’s High School in 1949. On Valentines Day, Feb 14th of 1951, she married William Ibberson, Jr at the Union Congregational Church in Sleepy Eye and they later became members of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Colleen and Bill had 4 children and they made their home in Sleepy Eye all their lives. Colleen loved nature and spent many hours in her flower gardens for relaxation as well as enjoying the singing of the birds which she said were saying rejoice and be glad each day. She loved to sing and was a member of the church choir and a soloist though out the years. She was an officer of the Congregational Church and in charge of the alter flowers for many years. Colleen worked at the Palace Shoe and Clothing in Sleepy Eye, starting when she was in high school and continued until the store closed about 50 years later. She so enjoyed meeting people and greeted them with a bright smile and a twinkle in her eye, while helping them pick out the perfect clothing piece for their individual needs. She modeled for many of the annual style shows and she was always impeccably dressed and perfectly made up. She was proud of her activities in the Fraternal Organization of the Easter Star, a church and community service organization, where she was a local chapter officer and a State of Minnesota Officer. She was a devoted mother and wife and gave selflessly to her family. She enjoyed organizing and hosting family gatherings for her immediate and extended family. She loved her grandchildren and attended many of their school activities throughout the years. Colleen is survived by her 4 children: Lee (Beverly) Ibberson, Paulette (Greg) Grausam, Jeff (Lisa) Ibberson and Sue (Jerry) Forster. She also is survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grand children. Grand children: Chris Ibberson, Terry Ibberson, Faye Nelson, Matthew Grausam, Mark Grausam, Anna Ibberson, Mya Ibberson, Kallie Forster, Megan Forster, Mackena Forster.
