Eva Lenora Brothersen Hortin

Eva Lenora Brothersen Hortin, having had a full life, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on April 20, 2015, at the age of 97. She was born June 7, 1917 to Francis and Amsena Brothersen. Eva was the middle child of 11 siblings, and she was raised in Mt Pleasant, UT. Before her marriage to Sherm, Eve attended Snow College and worked as a stenographer. Eva and Sherm were married in the Salt Lake Temple on May 9, 1950. Together, they raised five children. Eva is survived by her three daughters, Deloris (Tom) Wilhelmsen, Rita Hortin-Ramos (Juan), Wanda (Tony) Gutierrez; two sons, David and Lynn; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and her beloved sisters, Beth Yorgason and Mary Dyches. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman; her parents; and eight of her siblings. Funeral services will be Friday, April 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, with viewings Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 12-12:45 p.m. Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens.
