Margurite "Marty" Nadine Wiley - Marty, as friends and family knew her, a resident of Pendleton passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011 at Ashley Manor in Pendleton. She was 81 years old. A Memorial Service for Marty Wiley will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Burns Mortuary Chapel in Pendleton. Marty was born in Salem, Oregon, to Elmer Louis and Pearl Margurite Hampton, on October 26, 1929. The family lived in Roseburg, Oregon, during her youth. At the age of 16, Marty married the love of her life: Earl William Wiley, Jr. on February 4, 1946. They had two sons, Lynn and Bruce. The couple celebrated fifty years of marriage together. They resided mostly in Eastern Oregon, eventually settling in Pendleton, OR. Marty had worked as a payroll bookkeeper for the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, where she retired after twenty years. Marty was a fun-loving, energetic person who enjoyed bingo, yard sales, puzzles, and playing cards with her grandchildren. She loved being with her family and friends. She is survived by her son Lynn Wiley and family of Pendleton, OR, and son Bruce Wiley of Georgia, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as many who loved her dearly, to whom she was known as "Grandma". Mrs. Wiley was preceded in death by her husband Earl, and her parents Pearl and Elmer Hampton.
