Jane Sarah Haynes Obituary

Jane Sarah Haynes passed away December 14th, 2020 at the age of 82 in Casper, Wyoming.

Jane was born in Dearborn, MI the only daughter and youngest of three children on February 21st, 1938 to Tom and Dorothy Weldon. Where she then moved to Phoenix, Arizona and attended Saint Mary's high school.

She met her husband Jerry Haynes in 1955, while she was a candy striper and he was an usher at the Fox movie theater. They married in Phoenix, Arizona on August 24th and then moved to Payson, Arizona in 1968 to raise their family and operate multiple businesses they owned.

Jane was a very independent and active woman who loved the outdoors and running her businesses as that was her pride and joy. She spent many years at Roosevelt Lake on the weekends with Five Star Bass fishing and Mickey Mouse ski club. She loved traveling especially in their motorhome to Rocky Point, Mexico. Her devotion and passion mainly revolved around the Elks lodge giving back to the youth, which the main one was the youth elk camp in Young, Arizona.

She owned multiple businesses in her community that included Haynes pluming, Action bike & trophy shop, Bass N’ Hole fishing & tackle shop. Not only did she love her time on the Lake fishing but she was one of the founders of Five Star Bass fishing couples circuit.  As well as a founding member of the Mickey Mouse ski club, Jane loved everything about the water from fishing, skiing and boating.

Jane ran the Elks youth camp for 15 plus years where they maintained the grounds, kept up the cabins, and made sure each group that came had all they needed. She looked forward to spending her summers in the woods and seeing all the people going to have a good time.

She wasn't afraid to take charge, an outgoing, spunky woman who loved to be referred to as “Calamity Jane”. She may have been one to be reckoned with along with the mouth of a sailor that cannot be forgotten. But she loved a good time and was the life of the party. Jane was very proud of the town of Payson and called it her home. To the extent that when she introduced herself to others she would say “hi, I am Jane Haynes from Payson, Arizona”.

Jane was a member of the Catholic Church as she always admired knowing she was named after her Aunt Sister Mary Jane.

She was preceded in death by her brother Tom Weldon and her parents.

Jane is survived by, her husband Jerry. Her brother: Richard Weldon; her children: Michael Haynes (Renee), Patrick Haynes (Michelle); Grandchildren: Breann Mosier (Jarrod), Jeri Clark (Doug), Gregory Haynes (Mayme), LeighAnne Armstrong (Levi), Danielle Connor (Jacob), Hunter Haynes, Tanya Toohey (Derek), Amanda Salazar; Great Grandchildren: Colton, Lane & Paisley Clark, Carter & Aubrey Mosier, Brody Tool and baby Haynes on the way, Levi & Pearl Armstrong, Landon Connor, Ryann & Devin Chavez.
