Robert F. Eaglehouse, 86, of Blairsville, died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. He was born April 22, 1923, in Latrobe, a son of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Kahl) Eaglehouse. Robert was a member of St. Martin's Church and had been retired from Teledyne Vasco Company. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Force. Robert was a Purple Heart recipient and had been a POW. He had been a member of American Legion Post 515, the DAV and was an avid outdoorsman. Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Edward Eaglehouse. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Doris (Kridle) Eaglehouse; four sons, James Eaglehouse and wife, Jennece, Mark Eaglehouse, Neil Eaglehouse and wife, Linda, and Bruce Eaglehouse and wife, Kathy, all of Blairsville; a daughter, Jane Miedel and husband, Ben, of Latrobe; 16 grandchildren, Leslie, Laura, Mary Ellen, Philip, Bradley, Colleen, Yvonne, Michael, Justin, Michelle, Jason, Kelly, Gage, Seth, Levi and Tabitha; and a very special great-granddaughter, Alicen. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Martin's Church, New Derry. Military services will be held at 10:15 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, with American Legion Post 515 and VFW Post 3414. Interment in St. Martin's Cemetery.
