Larry Steven Rhodes Obituary

Larry Steven Rhodes, age 69, of Harlem, New York, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020. He was born February 3, 1951 in Harlem NY, to Thelma Rhodes-Tingle and Francis Hubert Rhodes. Larry, a Vietnam veteran, served two tours in the US Army Special Forces.

Larry had a passion for helping those in need and giving back to his community. For decades, Larry assisted homeless and incarcerated men in getting their lives back on track.  His loving wife of almost 29 years, Louise, describes Larry as kind, faithful and true. A good husband who cared for her and loved her unconditionally. Larry’s yearning to gain a closer relationship with God lead him to dedicating himself to the lord through baptism and thereafter through a daily life dedicated to being a better man. Larry was a good man and a pillar of strength in his community and for his family. He will truly be missed.

Larry leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Louise Rhodes, children, Rahdel (Lydia) Sharbaan, Camille Rhodes, Lawrence Rhodes, stepchildren, Crystal Scott, Linda (Paul) Seal, and Tuere’ Kemp, siblings, Hubert Rhodes, Miriam Rhodes (deceased), Theresa Brebnor, Elder Andrew (March’e) Tingle, grandchildren, Tiana Thompson, Imani A Sharbaan, Rahdel Sharbaan II, Kai Scott, Daniel Seal, Anthony Johnson, Jorden Seal, Tre’ Crawford and Mayah Seal, great grandchildren, Riley Paige Sharbaan and Nihanna Nova Murray,  nieces, nephews, Dominic Dupont, Nolan Dupont, Justin Brebnor, Dr. Charles (Rebecca) Weng, Jennifer Brebnor, Cynthia Carey,  Shadrach and a host of extended family.
