Mrs. Charlene (Haley) Carson Collins of Weldon, Arkansas departed this life on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at the age of 78. She was born May 23, 1942 in Fitzhugh, Arkansas, the daughter of Ernest and Ethel (Turner) Haley. Mrs. Collins lived the majority of her life in Weldon, where she worked as a clerk at McDonald’s Store, and was Postmaster at the Weldon Post Office. Later, she worked as an Entrance Manager for Jordan Landing Park at Lake Norfork. Mrs. Collins enjoyed the outdoors, spending hours feeding the birds and gardening. She enjoyed watching Law and Order and the Razorbacks, while drinking an ice cold Diet Coke. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them. Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Collins; one brother, Willie L. Haley; and her parents. She is survived by her children, Jerry Carson and wife, Lwanda of Tupelo, Justin Carson and wife, Amber, of Fayetteville, Kathy Edwards and husband, Brien, of Oil Trough, and Regina Carson of Oil Trough; one brother, Hubert Haley and wife, Mary Dale of Morrington; one sister, Lois Jean Alumbaugh of McCrory; ten grandchildren, Brent Turner and wife, Laurie, B.J. Robertson and wife, Vanessa, Jessica Martin, Brandi Morse and husband, Joseph, Jonathan Bryant and wife, Amanda, Heather Graham and husband, Trey, Hunter Runyan and wife, Macey, Harrison Runyan and wife, Taylor, Sierra Carson, and Khya Carson; fourteen great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Monday, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Bro. James Edwards officiating. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Brent Turner, B.J. Robertson, Jonathan Bryant, Hunter Runyan, and Harrison Runyan. Honorary pallbearers are Korbin Foster, Carson Robertson, Will Hill, Jace Bryant, Jiles Bryant, Jackson Graham, and Maxton Runyan. Arrangements by Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home. Due to COVID-19 mandates, masks are required at all visitations and funeral services. Please also maintain social distancing during all gatherings.
