Robert "Bob" Sharpe

Robert (Bob) Sharpe, 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior December 10, 2020 in an Abilene Hospital. Visitation will be Monday, December 14, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Starbuck Funeral Home, Merkel, TX. Funeral Service will be at Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery in Abilene, TX Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Jeff Hatcher will be officiating. Bob was born Dec. 14, 1940 in Columbia, S.C. to Rev. JC and Lillie Sharpe. He married Janie Dudley June 12, 1964 in Columbia, S.C. They were married for 56 years. He was in the Air Force at Dyess and Maine. He worked for W.T.U. for 25 years. He currently worked for Abilene Professional Services. Bob was always working. Loved his profession and he always smelled good. Loved his coffee and donut holes. Grandson Derek was his #1 fan. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Billy Sharpe and granddaughter Tamara Koen. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Janie Sharpe of Abilene; son Rick Smith of Oklahoma; son Bobby Sharpe wife Lisa of Abilene; daughter Karen Koen of Abilene; daughter Mandy Seay and husband Bobby of Brookesmith; stepmom Helen Long of Hilda, S.C.; half-brother Steve; sister-in-law Mary Sharpe of Hilda, S.C.; brother Melvin Sharpe of Salley, S.C.; brother Charles Sharpe and wife Linda of Wagener, S.C.; sister Clydie Ann of Columbia, S.C.; four grandkids Taran, Derek, Jessica, and Lauren. Four great-grandkids Kamberlyn, McKenna, Ellis, and Connor along with numerous nieces and nephews and lots of friends.
