Frankie Pennington Stamper Morehead, Kentucky Obituary

Frankie Pennington Stamper

Frankie Pennington Stamper, age 60, of Stamper Ridge, Elliott County, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017, at her home. Born November 18, 1956, in Pikeville, she was a daughter of the late Frank Pennington and Sally Reed Rowe. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Pennington Stamper, and three brothers, James, Charles, and Bobby Pennington. Frankie is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Richard Stamper, whom she married February 23, 1980; one daughter, Sheena Marie Stamper; one son, Richard Magnum Stamper; and two adored grandchildren, Lincoln and Riley Stamper, all of Elliott County, Kentucky. Other survivors include one sister, Faye Stamper and Jerry of Elliott County; four brothers, Buddy Pennington and Dale of Elliott County, Scottie Pennington and Vicki of Urbana, Indiana, Marvin Ray Rowe and Jondra of Mansfield, Ohio, Max Rowe and Teena of Lexington, Ohio; nieces and nephews; extended family; and friends. Frankie was a loving wife, mother, mamaw and sister. Every day she put her family's needs before hers and was happy to do so. She had the purest heart, a heart that has given her lunch to a hungry child and has walked in the rain because she gave her umbrella to someone who needed it more. She loved her music and played it until her speakers blew. She loved to play cards with her husband Richard even if it meant playing rummy at four in the morning or driving to another state to a new casino. She loved telling stories to her kids and loved even more doing so to her precious grandchildren, Lincoln and Riley. Frankie retired from Morehead State University where she worked as a housekeeper for Dr. Wayne (Sue) Andrews, the president of MSU. Frankie was of the Christian faith and passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her devoted and loving family, just the way Frankie wanted. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Willie Sturgill officiating. Burial will follow in the R & F Stamper Cemetery on Stamper Ridge. Pallbearers: Buddy Allen Pennington, Jerry Michael Stamper, Tony Stamper, Blake Pennington, Cole Stamper, and Dougie Pennington. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
