Thelma Louise Edwards Indian Harbour Beach, Florida Obituary

Thelma Louise Edwards

Thelma “Tommie” Edwards went to be with the lord on Tuesday night December 8, 2020, after a valiant fight with cancer. Tommie passed on her own terms with her son holding her hand. She passed calmly and was in no pain. There was a look of peace on her face. With humble beginnings in western California, Tommie grew up in Roswell New Mexico with her sister Lawana and her loving parents Virgil and Ada. It was there she met the love of her life Bill. They were blessed in sharing over 40 years together. Tommie had two sons Billy Ray and Mark. Billy Ray died tragic in a motorcycle accident at the age of 19. Mark followed in his father’s footsteps in the medical profession and has become an RN. After retirement from AAFES Tommie became heavily involved with several charitable organizations including F.E.D.S of Brevard, Candlelighters of Brevard and Promise of Brevard. Her charity and genuine care for others always outshined her small frame. The star that kept her shining after the passing of Bill is her beloved granddaughter Brooke. Brooke was the apple of her eye and she raised her to be the wonderful young lady she is today. Tommie had a way about her that made others feel special, to be a part of her life. She will be sorely missed by all who’s lives she touched. We were all blessed to have her in our lives. She is survived by her sister Lawana, her loving sone Mark and her beloved granddaughter Brooke In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made in Thelma's name to Promise in Brevard.
